Timber Frame Out building
We built this 60m2 timber frame workshop from the ground up, taking care of every element of the job. Whilst enduring all weather conditions! Check out how we did it below….
We started with an empty plot first digging a floating raft foundation. This approach minimised the amount of groundworks required and helped to keep the cost down. We laid the concrete slab which both made up the foundation and the floor of the garage. With then installed the Rsj ridge beam. This beam was larger than specified to allow it to also be used as a mounting point for an engine hoist!
We constructed the timber frame onsite and cut in the asymmetric roof. With the roof felt, batten and tiled it was watertight and ready to be ply lined inside and out. The final step was to add the exterior cladding which the customer took care of. As a keen diyer he did an excellent job whilst helping to keep the overall cost down. We also installed utilities to the workshop and renewed supplies to the main house at the same time.
